For kindergarten, children need the following immunizations:
- 5 doses of DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis), unless the fourth dose was received on or after the fourth birthday in which case only 4 doses are required
- 2 doses of a measles-containing vaccine (MMR—combined measles, mumps, and rubella)
- 1 dose of varicella vaccine
Additionally, if your child attends school in one of the 40 counties designated by the department, 1 dose of hepatitis A vaccine is required for grades K-3 only.
