The Houston Public Library system serves the City's culturally diverse community by offering a broad program of free educational, informational and recreational activities through a central complex and neighborhood branch libraries.
Library Services for Everyone
Ask a Librarian -- Library reference staff will answer your reference question, guide you to information resources, or locate a book.
Computer Classes -- free monthly computer classes are offered for adults and teens throughout Library. Classes are taught in English and Spanish. Classes offered include: Computer Basics, Internet Basics, Windows Basics, Introduction to Microsoft Word, Introduction to Power Point and Introduction to Excel. Electronic Book Collections -- Explore the world of e-books at the netLibrary site or catalog, including a growing collection of downloadable audiobooks
Electronic Journal Collections -- Titles of magazines available through the library's licensed databases
Interlibrary Loan -- Get books from other libraries.
Patron Placed Holds -- allows customers to submit a request for a selected title and have it sent to the Houston Public Library location of their choice for pickup. Just browse the catalog, choose an item and place it on hold.
