Ask a Librarian!

Almost everyone, at one time or another, has questions that need a quick answer. Unfortunately, it never fails that when you need a quick answer most, you can't find it, or can't get someone to give you the answer. For students, this could mean that they could fail a homework assignment or even a test. In business it could mean the loss of money.

So what do you do? Go to your Houston Public Library or call 832-3931313! Visit any of the Library's 36 branches or the Central Library and talk to the reference librarian. The best thing about finding answers at the Library is that you'll receive fast personal service from its many professional reference librarians, free.

Last year the Library's reference librarians answered more than two million reference questions. They strive to answer your questions in five minutes or less or will tell you where you can find the answer to your question. You can't beat that!

The Library also provides another option to finding answers to your questions and it's: Ask a Librarian: Live Reference Help Online. Houston Public Library now offers live reference help online through InfoLive! With this free chat reference service you can access real-time online assistance by Library staff. You can communicate live with a librarian from home, school, or work.

This service is easy to use. Visit the "Ask a Librarian" page at the Library Web site, www.houstonlibrary.org, fill in the form and get the information you need. It's that simple.

Live chat with InfoLive! librarians is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. For more information, call 832-393-1313 or visit www.houstonlibrary.org.
