Central Library Grand Re-Opening Celebration -- the long-awaited Houston Public Central Library re-opens its doors after a two-year, multi-million-dollar renovation. The celebration will be held Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 1, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Friends of the Houston Public Library to Hold 30th Annual Bargain Book Sale will be held May 16 - 18, 2008 in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Exhibition Hall A. Houston’s largest community Book Sale, it features more than 80,000 books for sale with most books $2 or less. Proceeds benefit the Houston Public LIbrary.
