Houston Public Library and its partners EBSCOnet E-books, OneClickdigital and Overdrive are excited to offer downloadable e-books, audiobooks, and video to our customers.
The library's downloadable collection is also accessible from the Houston Public Library Catalog using the search options.
Note: You must have a valid library card with less than $10.00 in fines to download these resources. Login to My Account to check on your card’s expiration date and any fines you may owe.

OverDrive now includes Kindle-compliant titles. To find them, select the Advanced Search button on the left hand side of the OverDrive webpage and then under Format, select Kindle. You may hit search and retrieve all Kindle formatted titles or enter additional search criteria.

Audiobook and Video User Restrictions:
Currently audiobook and video services are not available to users inside the library.
- Your Houston Public Library PowerCard is required to use the services outside the library.
- To listen, download the file to your PC , open it in Windows Media Player to transfer the book to a portable device.
- Players that allow bookmarking and files larger than 512 megabytes are desirable.
