Vertical Files

Clayton Library maintains an extensive collection of vertical file materials. Miscellaneous papers of genealogical interest are arranged under five sections: Family, USA, State, Foreign and Society. Examples of the types of materials found in the vertical files include: maps, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, translation tables, local history articles, research guidelines, etc.

All vertical files are located in the main building. The USA, State, Foreign and Society vertical files are located on the first floor. The Family files, which are part of the Family History Collection are located on the second floor. To see what is in any of these files you will have to visit Clayton Library.
